Why use a personal trainer?...

Personal trainers are experienced in custom designing workouts that meet your specific needs. They are educated in meeting you at your particular fitness level and progressing your workouts from there. Having a personal trainer will not only educate you on proper form and technique but motivate you as well. You can work with a trainer on a regular basis or you can consult with one periodically to critique and update your program. You’ll find that this expedites the accomplishment of your desired goals!

Ruthann has been my personal trainer for several years. She is always professional and is very knowledgeable in her field, explaining her reasoning for having me do certain exercises and how they will benefit my specific needs. She does an excellent job demonstrating the proper form for each exercise. She is always willing and able to answer my questions and is very adaptable if something isn't working the way we want it to. This has been especially evident to me in the last few months since I suffered an injury. Ruthann has really put the "personal" in personal trainer by making sure that the exercises that she gives me do not put any strain on my injured ankle and has made adjustments to my program whenever necessary. After spending my youth as an over weight teen, in 1990 I decided to make a change by losing over 80 lbs. I then began a new life with more physical ability and confidence. I am a fellow personal trainer and active woman. I was working out/training an average of 2 hours a day, 5 days a week. I had hoped those stubborn 10 pounds would melt away, but they just didn't. I knew my diet was the culprit. That's when I decided it would be to my advantage to check out Transitions. After week one (detox) I had already dropped a few pounds and was feeling better. Week two, I began the low-glycemic way of eating and more pounds came off. After 6 weeks, those stubborn 10 pounds were gone. Following the Transitions plan got me back on track to eating properly.

I have studied exercise science in the United States as well as the United Kingdom , and have worked with a wide spectrum of clients such as special needs clients, deconditioned clients, and cardiac patients.

I enjoy every side of exercise and the healthful benefits it can reap. As an exercise physiologist, I take great pride in helping those who have recently undergone heart surgery to regain their lives and health back. I also find it rewarding to train others in a preventative setting such as the gym. With the encouragement and knowledge of a personal trainer, you will feel better and look great!

In my free time, I enjoy traveling, golf cart rides, and spending time with my family and friends.
